We Won’t Pay!

This play by Dario Fo was performed at The New Hazlett Theater in May 2010 to an audience of 200.

Written by Dario Fo in the 70s, this widely-performed farce takes a light hearted look at the times we live in.
In this chaotic comedy of errors, a poor but enterprising Antonia takes advantage of a food riot in the city, liberating groceries and sneaking them home. She convinces her friend Margherita into the charade and they fake a tin-can pregnancy to sustain their lies. Their newly jobless husbands and law enforcers are thrown into the party leading to a wild comic sequence of events that spirals out of control through the final curtain.
Blue Mango’s multi-ethnic and color blind cast promises to engage, amuse and provide new dimensions.
